Default Anyone played with backspacing?

Just curious if anyone has attempted to push the wheel to About even with the fender.

Considering selling my really good condition Lexus OEM rims if someone has any experience or can show some pics of a certain set of wheels backspaced to the fender.

I guess for that matter, anyone know how wide we can go on the stock rim? 285, 305?

Thanks!

I have 285/70/17's on my stock wheels along with 1.25" spacers. This brought the tires just slightly beyond the fender flares. I needed to do some trimming of plastic to make things fit. I'm pretty sure a 305 would hit the body mounts located inside the wheel wells as my setup now just barely clears.

I got some tundra wheels with a 15mm offset vs the GX's stock 25mm offset and will be tire shopping soon to see what I can fit on there. I don't want to run a 1.25" spacer (about 30mm) on the GX so I am hoping 285's will fit with just the 10mm difference in wheels, basically the tundra wheels have 0.4" more backspacing. if not I may try the 275/70 out and see how that goes but its an odd tire size.
