Default DIY - 2" ironman lift - rear

Parts used

2" ironman lift for the 2007-2009 FJ cruiser from cruiser corps for $640 shipped (included front as well)

Rear conversion kit from metaltech - the basic kit, not with isolators (saves $50 to order yourself).

Rear isolators for the top from Amazon - I'll have to look up the part number, but I think they're for a 4 runner

Firstly, remove the sway bar

Sorry for the lack of pics. The rear is far simpler than the front.

Remove the tire and rear shock.

Take a long screwdriver and point it toward the other tire over the airbag. Sweep it backwards and you should catch the pin holding the bag in.

I cut the air line. I tried to get my big hand in there to release the tube at the bag, but it wasn't happening and it was cold.

The bag will slide out now.

Attach the conversion kit. Getting the nut on the bottom started was tricky. Then go to the other side and jack it up at the shock base. This should lower the other side enough to insert the coil. May take some fiddling. If you didn't take the other tire and shock off, nows the time.

Upper isolator

I can't remember if I put the shock on here or if I went to the other side and put the other coil on first. 😆

Nice lift. Could you please tell me the rear isolators part # or a picture of what they look like or could i just purchase them with the metal tech kit? Thanks! once again, great lift.

Sorry - forgot to post it. Amazon has it at $73 right now, but I bought it around $62 two weeks ago.

Lol. Not a stupid question. After I posted the initial response, I thought about clarifying that you would need two in case it wasn't clear.
