The $tealer$hip and their assessment of my CV boot
I went to the dealer for a routine oil change and they ask me to come out to the garage (great) They want 540$ to replace this entire axle. It isn't leaking grease, nor does it show signs of grease being splattered anywhere.
The boot needs to be sfifted over & re-clamped. I'll clean the area and use the tool below to fix this. I'll keep you posted.

Tell them to pound sand. That's totally fine, just needs a new clamp.
It blows my mind how much they charge to replace a simple CV axle on ANY car, they are relatively simple to do, and certainly not worthy of hundreds in labor charges!!!
I'm convinced that any procedure nowadays that requires at least one bolt to be removed, it automatically a "500 buckser" labor charge.

I though about that, but are they really that fcking thirsty to make a buck? <-rhetorical question Are they willing to put their name and brand on the line for a reckless stunt like that? I'm almost tempted to take my business elsewhere in the future, but.............
