Use to use Saddle Soap and Mink Oil back in the day... Now just a warm damp clean cloth and some Lexol seems to do the trick.....

Has anyone gotten a second letter yet? On the back of the first letter they say the parts should be ready in the Spring 2015.

Visited my dealer in May, they said June. Visited in June, they said August. So I guess I'll go by there again in August. Ready to get this done. Same thing on my 05 4Runner as well.

Sights like that tell you that it's going to be a while before they get to us. The Camry is on the list, and they sold a bunch more of those than the GX.

For people that have newly purchased a GX470 (I bought a 2004), what is the proper way to get a letter? I'm registered on lexusdrivers with the vehicle. Should I call Lexus corporate directly, and then call the closest dealership?

I would have your VIN handy and call your dealer. The Service Advisor should be able to confirm you're in the affected range and put you on their replacement list (they may want to take a look at the dash first to see the cracks themselves).

Make sure you are on the list at your local dealer, because they will be calling people in from that list.

Don't think that just because you have got a notice alerting you to this special warranty that you are automatically on a VIP list, it's up to us to make sure we're on the list!

Don't just expect to be called in, you need to contact your dealer and ask them if they have a list yet, and get your name on it ASAP.

I wrote a post on my blog a couple of months ago with all sorts of tips and details to make sure your car gets fixed in a timely manner, because there are over 1 million cars affected by this warranty extension.

That is why They are rolling it out in phases, with the ES first.

Was told the GX was starting this summer. Lexus was giving the dealer one dash per color, per car type, per week. He said email me with the word "dash" in the subject and he would put me on the list. Expect this process to take a year or longer.
