Hello all, just joined and have owned my 08 GX for about a year and a half. My Dueler tires are running low and I don't want to go through ski season on them, so I am looking at replacements. I think there's probably 5,000-7,000 miles left on them but I drive up into the mountains a lot and don't want to chance it.

So I have some questions about fitment, and I'm hoping you all can help. I still have my running boards installed and have stock suspension.

Option 1. Replacing just the tires and going with Goodyear Duratrac 265/70/17s on the stock OEM rims, and it sounds like most everybody agrees there is little to no rub.

The next options Replace the wheels and tires (maybe sell the stock wheels with tires) and I've found a couple 18" wheels I like on TireRack but again looking at fitting tires a little bigger than stock.

Option 2. Method Race Wheels 18" Mesh Machined
Size: 18x9
Offset: -12mm
Backspacing: 4.53"
Looking at Duratrac tire sizes 275/65/18 or 265/65/18

Size: 18x8
Offset: 10mm

Rubbing is not something I want to deal with although I may be willing to remove the running boards for sliders as part of this upgrade. Just not planning on suspension upgrades anytime soon.

My only input is you'll love the Duratracs in the snow, and that 265/70/17's don't rub on stock setup.

I'm running Methods with that same offset now, with 265s you should be okay, 275s may rub a little, im running 285s with trimming to get em to fit and no running boards

470SNC, did you run 265/65/18s or 265/70/17s with no lift?

I am running the 265/70/17's with FJ Cruiser rims (bring the tires out a little bit). They don't rub and look great!

Thanks for the input guys. After doing some more research, I'm going to ask a more specific question....

Is anyone running 275/70/17 or 275/65/18 on stock suspension? I know I'm pushing it, but I like the beefier stance and I'm not ready for a lift.

Im also running FJ Wheels but with 285/60/17 Proxes tires. No rubbing.



The Proxes Tires worked really good in the snow this last weekend.
