At 12k, it's a pretty good deal. For a northeast vehicle, that's not a major level of rust.

But I would ask if they have full maintenance records. Even in the 15k range, there's usually something that needs worked on, from where the previous owner skipped maintenance or repairs.

you could also register at mylexus.com and enter the VIN# to see what has been done at a lexus dealership

Just curious - what condition is the dash in? Any cracks?

The owner stated no cracks, we shall see. The photos he sent did not show any cracks.

He also says the 90k mile service has been done and the maintenance has been kept up. We shall see Tuesday.

that surface rust is normal for northeast vehicle.. wouldn't sweat that at all...

If/when you buy it just start a frame rust treatment/ prevention plan...

I brush on Fluid Film twice a year (once before winter and once after winter) from a gallon can (sold on amazon for ~$55)... many applications from one can and I use it on all my vehicles with great results over the past decade. It stops existing rust from spreading and prevents new rust from forming. If you get a lil wand thing you can even spray it inside the frame rails for maximum protection...

other more permanent options are POR-15. Great product and last a lot longer just a longer application process. this is more of a do it once application. more expensive as well.. probably $250 in supplies to do the complete undercarriage.

Don't sweat it. I bought mine 5 years ago from upstate NY and there was rust just like that. 5 years later it still looks the same. I'm sure the wheels are pitted as are most GX's. $12k is a good price, that's what I was offered on a trade in for my 04 with 124k
