Default TPMS Question

I had new tires put on last week. Two days after the TPMS light came on steady. All tires including the spare had 32 psi in them. That's what is listed on the door sill. I added a little more to 35 psi. Same result. I finally bumped it up to 40 psi. 4 shy of the max. It's been 2 days and no change. Since it's was a couple of days after the change is this a coincidence or is there some reset. I hate to disable it since its my wife's car. Also checked the switch under the dash.

Yep, missed that tidbit.

I won't pretend to understand TPMS very much. But most tire shops have TPMS scanners now, don't they? Simply return to the shop you bought the tires from and ask for a diagnosis after explaining the situation to them.

Myself, I don't have much time for TPMS. With our high aspect ratio tires it's fairly easy to tell when a tire is low, for me. I disabled the TPMS light on my GX

What year is the OP's GX? The batteries in the sensors only last 7-10 years.

It's also possible the tire shop damaged a sensor. The codes can be read to determine which one.

It's a 06. A day after I made this post the light went off. Took the pressure down to 35 psi cold. Couple of days later came back on. Took it to the tire shop and their scanner was able to read all of the sensors even though the light was on. He also told me he has more trouble with toyota sensors than any other. After I left the light went off. It now comes on randomly.
