Replacing turn signals with LEDs
#16
I had done that Flasher Mod, but now you don't need to. Get the Resistors to do the same job.
You need to buy the LED bulbs here is the type. If you have your Owners Manual they have this otherwise here is to one you need to look for.
The installation of the resistors are very simple if you are good at Electronics this should be not a hard one, only to remove the Rear Tail lights and have the resistors crimped along with your OEM wires. Get a good Auto Elect guy to do this job. Hope this helps.

Yes it is a pain to remove the flasher from below the dashboard. When I did the flasher there was not much of info on how the resistors would hold up the hyper flashing. And were not readily available online. It had to be modded and risky. That is why I went the Flasher mod way. But today the resistor can do the job.
You can also have the DRLs the LED way.

Led
Hello,
Well I bought all led front and rear flashers, brake, reverse, drls and tail bulbs. Reverse, brake, tail and drls looks nice but I have hyper flash central going on. Hazard blinkers are normal which is odd and the auto fellow gave me these resistors to install on each flasher assembly but they show a 3 wire set up and I have 4 wires at each tail light. Are these things worth the trouble?? I guess I should have bought bulbs with resistors built in but didn't know about them until now. Any help?

Hey there. No, only the turn signals hyper flash. Has anybody ever changed the flash relay offered for sale by superbrightleds.com? Supposedly that can fix the problem without having to put resistors on each turn signal assembly.
Any infor?

Yes a simple thing to add some FLASH is a headache trying to figure it out! I ordered a 8 pin adjustable relay, the parts place says I have a 8 pin now, so hopefully its just a matter of changing bulbs and the relay. Im not splicing into anything.

mann777 is there a "right, safer, better" way to go? I hope you know what I am trying to say or get at. Meaning is the flasher or the resistor way more professional and or reliable? IObviously you dont know me, but when I do something, I am looking for the right way not cutting corners. I admit I just started researching this and it can make your head spin! So if you had to do it again, which way would you go?

The replacement flasher relay would mean you don't have to cut into the factory wiring harness.
You'll be making mods to the flasher relay, but it just plugs in.
