Yakima Megawarrior. Kinda wide. Crappy iphone pics but you get the idea. It kills mileage by another 1.5 to 2mpg and makes a bit of wind noise but not too much.

Yup. Those dropped it as well but that was 6,000 miles ago and I've sure noticed the drop over the last two tanks of gas.

its a shame they stopped selling the rola rack basket, cant find it anywhere, I think it looks best design wise

I have the Rola rack with the extension. I'll post the pics a little later. Do a search and many people are satisfied with Rolas.

Yakima is better made (prettier welds), but Rola sits a lot lower on the roof. This is the main reason I chose it. Plus, being much cheaper always helps too. The ultimate choice would be to completely replace your roof rack with something like ARB or Baja Racks. I'm not sure if Gobi rack fits our trucks. I was in a hurry and didn't have a chance to talk to Baja about the fitment, but found out later that they have fitted other GXs.

As for the place to purchase it..... Home Depot! I originally bought it online from 4wheelparts but they kept sending me backorder notification every two weeks. I finally cancelled my order and purchased it form Home Depot online (do a search on Rola Home Depot). Arrived at my local store within 5 days with free shipping.

I did some more research and looks like Rola changed their name to Rhino Racks, same design, same basket, just marked Rhino Rack instead of Rola now. I'm most likely planning on a Baja Rack, they quoted 795 for their full rack for the GX470, and its a custom made order so it has a leadtime of 3-5 weeks.

Keep me posted! I will eventually upgrade mine with a direct bolt-on. I'd like to see how the Baja racks look on our trucks. Thanks.

So I am a new gX owner moving over from the green oval. It has been a struggle finding aftermarket parts that aren't designed for the urban Crawler. I came across this rack and got it on last night. Happy with the quality and durability will get tested as I continue my build.

does the rola make much noise? Does the noise change depending on whether or not you get the extension? Any mileage reduction with the Rola?
