Default Would this 04 GX470 be a good buy?

I have my eye on an '04 GX470 with 73,500 miles. When I went to see it, the VSC light and the alignment light (the one with the axles on it) were lit up on the dash. When I tried to turn, the vehicle came to a complete stop. The acceleration was okay, but when I compared it to an '03 GX470, the '03 was more brisk. The salesperson said that it was related to the VSC light, and that the brakes were a little low also because of the VSC as well. The '04 also had multiple paint chips around various parts of the car, but no major dents or rust like the '03. The leather in the driver armrest was also cracking. However, the ride was smooth, there were no odd noises, no leaking fluids, etc...

Having said all of the above, would it be a good buy for $19,100 walkout price if the dealer agrees to warranty for 12 months the reasons behind the VSC and alignment light?

Thanks!

No. For $19k I'd look for a newer model even if that meant more miles.

$17k walkout with warranty would be a good deal with the low mileage. I have a mint 04 with 120k miles and was offered $15k a month ago

Please look at this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...lights-on.html

It sounds like there isn't anything wrong with the car. What you referred to as an "Alignment light" is the center diff lock being engaged. When this happens, the VSC is disabled. Simply hit the center diff lock button to turn off the center diff lock and all should be well. Unless the diff lock is stuck, but if you read the linked thread you'll see how to free up a stubborn diff lock.

With that said, $19K is way too much IMHO.

Thanks for the feedback. It's been helpful. I'm still looking for a GX. Now that I'm armed with some more information, I'll be better prepared to find one that is in good condition and at a good price - I hope. Thanks!

Default 05 GX Sports Package?

How much would you pay for an '05 GX470 with sports package with 89K miles?
