Default adding bluetooth to 04 gx470

hey folks

we have an 04 gx470 with the factory nav + rear back up camera... i really want to add bluetooth to it to stream music + IL new law requires people to use bluetooth while driving...

how would i go about this without removing the factory nav, has anybody done it before, and how much does it usually cost?

thanks in advance,

From what I've been able to find out, you'd use the GROM Audio module with their Bluetooth add-on. You'll lose CD-changer capability (if you have one). Switching between Bluetooth and USB/Aux with the GROM is somewhat annoying (have to go to FM then quickly back to Disc).

thanks chip

does it sound reasonable $250 for doing the work? here's their response when i asked if they can integrate bluetooth :

the only Bluetooth part we can do for the Lexus is a wired fm modulated part. It's called a tranzit Blu HF. The part cost $150. You'll need $25 in parts and $100 labor. So total installed would cost $275. It takes about 2 hours to install. Let us know if you would like to make a appointment. Thanks

The FM modulator Bluetooth are OK for voice, terrible for music (they sound *bad*). But they have the advantage of letting you keep your CD changer.

That's not a bad price for one.

Amazon prime- iClever Bluetooth portable hotspot $18.99. Use a 3.5mm audio cable to plug it to aux input on vehicle. Pair phone to iClever, profit

No AUX input. That was added later. My '03 doesn't have it either.

I added the parrot Bluetooth. Works good. Does not play through mark levison system, had to put an auxiliary speaker under the dash.
