GX470 - Has anyone replaced an A/C compressor?

Long time listener, first time poster. I've seen a lot of great guides out there for A/C repair, but none on GX470's specifically. Has anyone out there replaced A/C compressor? I'm wondering if it's possible to remove the compressor without pulling the front-left drive shaft. It looks a little tight under there. I'd have tried it without pulling the drive shaft, but the brief AutoZone guide mentions it specifically. I appreciate the advice!
