Hmm
I'm not saying 135 is a lie... but I'm saying it's not safe, even if it IS possible, which I also question a little bit. I'm pretty sure the GX tires aren't speed rated to go that high. Most likely speed limited to 110 or that area. Plus that high, the speedometer is not that accurate, it could show 135, but actual speed would be slower than that. You'd need a radar device to tell how fast you're truly going.

You have to hand it to him. He makes the post and hasn't returned, but is probably watching our posts with a smile. :-)
My theory is still that its kilometers. He never said he pushed it to the limit, he only said that that is how fast he got the GX cruising in the desert.

It's also possible he just made it up and is now embarrassed by the "Top Speed 112 MPH (electronically limited)". I have had many 4runners and these limiters are dead on.

Since we're on the topic of speed, how would one go about removing the chip that limits the GX470's speed? Do you run down to your local lexus service consultant and inquire? Or do you find someone that does that type of thing at some ricer place?
