Long time lurker here. Just bought an 06 GX 470 - have had 3 LS 400's prior. Have never owned anything other than a Lexus and don't intend to change anytime soon. Question on my new vehicle -

It looks like from the picture that there are RCA inputs for the video system - can I get an RCA to 1/8" ("red and white" to "headphone jack" in layman's terms) and play music through the stereo system in that manner?

I am actually out of the country (in South Africa) until June so my dad went to pickup the vehicle for me or I would test it myself. If the RCA inputs aren't a good solution for playing audio over, I'm planning on ordering a device from VAIS or similar to handle it and would like to go ahead and get all that stuff sorted out before I get back.

Any thoughts appreciated! If the RCA is a bad solution and you have experience with VAIS or a similar product and want to give me some feedback on it that would be great!

I believe those rca jacks are to plug in head phones and listen to the DVD player You also may be able to plug in your personal device and listen to that through the headphones. I don't believe you will have access to be able to play anything you plug in to come through the stock oem speakers

I use a module provided by VAIS Tech - had it for 6 years and it's performed flawlessly. It's for music, not a mobile phone connection into the audio system. They also have modules that can provide a video interface but you may not need that since your GX already has the entertainment system. They are a supporter of this forum and you can find them from the Vendor Directory or use this links to find out more
