Default My new koyo radiator arrived with two saw cuts in it ??

I could not believe my eyes when I opened my brand new Koyorad from carid.com. To my surprise I saw two cuts on the top and bottom horizontal support – see pictures I have attached. The cuts are not deep enough to affect the fluid tubes, but this is very strange, the are about 8 inches from the side (one on top one on bottom). What do you guys think , should I still use it?? , the rest looks ok. (radiator says made in Indonesia) It almost makes me think of a very old scam where someone in the factory will make a damage to the radiator on purpose, so that the vendor marks it as defective and sells cheap, the damage would be done in such way so that it will not affect performance of the product, and that is how they later get it cheap and re-sell…., I am making this up as I can’t explain what I am seeing. Unless…, these cuts are normal, .. Anyone seen this?? What about carid.com??...anyone purchased from them? Thanks

Maybe someone bought the radiator, started to modify the frame to fit their vehicle and then realized it was a bad idea. They sent the radiator back for a refund. No one checked the returned radiator for damage. It got shipped to you. Well, it's a theory...

Anyone ever used a Denso replacement radiator? I have been told on here that Denso makes a lot of the factory parts for Toyota/Lexus. I found one on Amazon for 179 shipped. Should I get it?

Yes, a good majority of parts on any Toyota or Lexus are made by Denso, and Aisin. Denso would be the best bet.

OK, after many-many days I finally got the replacement radiator and what da "F" ...., I got another radiator with the same cuts in it. I know it is not the same radiator because I marked the one I sent back, but I don't know what to think anymore. Like I said before, the fins and water channels are not affected. I am lost...

Contact the manufacturer and ask them about the cuts and get their take on it:
