Both my cars - 2GS4 and 1GX - have a cassette deck. Yes, I still own a few cassettes ... but, I'm 99% converted to CD's now. Wait a minute, looks like those are also old school now. Maybe they'll come back like vinyl?! I can hope. (Please don't burst my bubble.)
Even though I'll probably never use the CD player in my 2013 ES, I'll glad that it is there (just in case). At the same time I'm happy that it doesn't have a CD changer because I would prefer to have the extra space that the CD changer would otherwise take up in the glove compartment, center console, trunk, or where ever else it might be.

I also have to admit that, in the house, not only do I have a CD deck still hooked up to the main A/V system, but there is still a cassette deck and a VCR hooked up. I haven't used any of them in many years, but there is something that makes me want to keep them "just in case".

okay that too was a low blow, I apologize... but seriously, I had to drop off my mother in law, about two hours away yesterday... she wanted to listen to her church mass on tape. (she missed last sunday and they still make tapes) It's the first time I wish I didn't have a tape deck in my car.

I do find it strange to have a Casset Deck below my NAV screen, on a vehicle from 2006....

I may just have to start using the cassette slot on the GX for my phone It seems like a better spot for the phone than any other place that I've found on the GX. Now, for the first time, I'm wishing that I had a cassette deck on the ES.

As an aside, when I was driving the GX this morning, I discovered that another excellent spot for holding a cell phone is the ashtray, which is another car feature, like cassette decks and CD changers, that seems to have faded into the past. The ashtray seems to be sized about perfectly to hold a phone like a Galaxy S4 or an Iphone.

Mine too! The whole Center stack seems stuck in the past, not being able to ditch the factory nav sucks.

I intentionally sought out a non-Nav GX when purchasing. It took quite a while to find one that I was happy with (i.e. miles, maintenance, etc) and I almost caved in and bought a Nav model after a few months. In the end it worked out, I paid more than originally planned but as other's have said it really is worth it to be happy with your purchase. In the long run a few thousand won't matter.

Default This is way to much for the car.

Hi. I just bought 2006 GX loaded with nav, levinson, rear camera with 111K miles for 15K at the wholesale auction. It is in mint condition with all the services performed at the Lexus dealership according to the Carfax. Someone trade in at the Mercedes Benz dealership for a new car.
So, I think that 20K for 2005 is way to much

Auction / Dealer is totally different. I'd expect you to pay much less at an auction.

And I wouldn't put all my trust in carfax. For Lexus / Toyota (and maybe other dealers) run your VIN below to see what has or hasn't been done.

Wow. I wasn't aware of that link that you indicated. Thank you very much. I was able to get a very detailed information on every service that was done to my car. I used carfax mostly to make sure it was not invloved in any major accidents.

Yeah great thing about the drivers.lexus site is you can run any VIN even if you're not the owner. It really helps out when shopping for a Lexus.
