Can you elaborate on this? I have a 2004 RX 330 just purchased from a crappy used car dealer and only code just popped up a month after getting it home is C1201.

Under dash looks crowded... Like something was put up in there.

Look for the diagnostic connector and see if anything is plugged into it.

If the wiring is a mess, it may have had an alarm or payment tracker installed. Sometimes the "buy here pay here" dealers install them to make sure payments get made. And when it's paid-for, the don't remove the alarms - they just disable them.

Default May Be a Faulty Gas Cap

I have seen those Christmas lights on the Dash soon after i bought my 08 . Well a replacement gas cap fixed it. Is your gas cap loose, mine was worn and wouldn't close tightly. I installed a new Gas Cap, disconnected the negative battery terminal. Reconnected and started the car...

It might be worth a try.

Monday69 - check your gas fill cap. If it's loose from your last fill up or the gasket is worn, those lights will come on. You may need a new gas cap - $30 from dealer. After you tighten the old gas cap or replace it with a new one, you need 5 or 6 cold starts before the lights will stay off.

Thanks chip. Light went out, might have been gas cap loose. Weird thing was with Techstream, only code I was getting was C1201...no other, and the eng. Mgt code is way too vague to even start guessing. Yes, there is a GPS unit tied in up there...I'm posting a pic...notice the lil box with extra cable tied up. Oh, well...price I pay for recession of 09...thanks again for the help.

Little black box with extra cable...GPS install by bank.

Yeah, those things suck. I would leave it in place until it starts giving you problems. Trying to re-splice the wires they cut could just make reliability worse.
