Default New 2009 GX470 Owner

I am the proud new owner of a used 2009 Lexus GX470. It's nautical blue on the outside with a gray interior. Only 18,600 miles on it when I picked it up on March 1. Two questions:

1) Is there a standard set of recommended upgrades to 2009 GX470s? I've seen a couple of LED threads, I think I'll be doing the LED upgrade.

2) Is it possible to both steam music from my iPhone 4GS, as well as use it to answer calls in hands free mode? When my son and I initially registered my iPhone 4GS with the GX470, it seemed like we could only use the iPhone to either stream music or to answer phone calls hands free.

hey brother, nice color and good find. What part of VA you located? I got a 09 this year as well in Black with 28k on it. First 3 things I put on it were vent visors, chrome tip exhaust and the wrap around hood protector. Have not done and LED's yet, but did use techstream to cut off the DRL's and program a key. I don't know the answer to your iphone question.

What is this "techstream" thingee you speak of?

I live in Northern Virginia, near Middleburg. Where do you live?

Techstream is what Toyota tech's use to interface with the truck, it's their handheld scanner. I believe you can get a cable and software package so you can use a laptop to accomplish the same things at home.

Damn, that is the exact one I was interested in!! It is the color I wanted and the mileage that I wanted. For market pricing purposes, do you mind me asking what the final price was, without taxes, etc.?

Enjoy the new ride!!

Yeah. I was down in Roanoke, Va., visiting my son, minding my own business, when we went to a local used car dealer. They had this gorgeous metalic blue GX470 on the lot, and I just fell in love with it on first sight. I was driving a black 2001 Landcruiser, with 245K miles on it. It was time to get newer, so we bought the Lexus. Original asking price was just under $40k. Final negotiated price was $36,800 + sales tax, licence, title. I feel like I shouldn't drive the Lexus until I sell the Landcruiser.

Anyone have any insight into the solution of this?

I'll be sure to check out the techstream thingee. I'm pretty handy with computers, what having built my own for the last 20 years, and having spent 7 years programming Oracle backend databases with HTML frontends.

Does anyone have any recommendations for upgrades to a 2009 GX470, other than the LEDs?

We own a sound front beach house on the NC outer banks, in Corolla, NC. I pass through the tidewater area on my way from Middleburg to Corolla, and back. I am very careful to only go about 5 mph above the posted speed limits in that area, as there are cops everywhere!
