Default 2013 FJcruiser/4runner wheels with 265/70/17 Duratrac's

Rather than hijack the other wheel/tire threads, I thought I'd post my own findings. I picked up these wheels from a 2013 FJcruiser but I believe they are the same on some of the 5th Gen 4runners:

I'm not sure what the off-set is but they look like they'll mostly keep gravel off my paint:

They ride much more firm than the bridgestone duelers that were on there and they do hum a bit. I got the light truck "E" rated for more durability but they also make a "C" rated that would be a bit softer. I plan on taking this on a lot of trails and so want a stiff side wall for running low PSI. I'm not sure if my rationale is sound but that's what I've done.

They do rub at the very bottom of the front inner fender liner at full lock. I'm not sure why Toyota designed the liner this way but a heat gun will fix this:

I'm sure I'll get more rubbing when I really stuff that tire up in the wheel well. At least they're not hitting any metal.

Those look great! I have the same size Duratracs but in C-load on my GX, love them.

Nice! I like those wheels.
They look good polished and would look killer in black plasi-dip.

Looks great, I am in need of new tires and there are lots of wheels/tires off new FJ and 4runners for sale out here, does anyone know which 4th gen fit correctly or the closest? Most are 265/70/17 like you used but seems to be a bit tall?
I cant find a conversion and TRD looks like a good choice too
Thanks

I'm not sure exactly what information you're looking for but basically, you definitely need 17"+ rims to clear your calipers so some of the OEM FJCruiser wheels won't fit because some were 16" (I think )

265/65/17 is the stock tire size for GX470's, FJ Cruisers stock tire size is 265/70/17, which also fits the GX470 with stock suspension, but is one size taller and will affect the gearing and speedo calibration. Any of the 4th gen 4Runner/FJ Cruiser wheels will fit your GX470 with no issues, FJC wheels are generally 1/2" wider than the GX470 wheels though, so they will sit out further from the truck when mounted.

4runner over FJ wheels is a better choice then...for more of a OEM fit, what about centercaps, do they interchange?
What about tacoma trd rims?
.Thanks guys!

I think you're right. I was thinking about Tacoma wheels.
