I've used a Raybestos branded brake lube in the past, greenish black, tacky stuff, messy. Sucks that you ordered the wrong caliper, will Sewell take it back as it's a special order? Should be the same as a 4Runner, and they have the same frozen caliper issues as GX's, so you might be able to sell it to someone if you get stuck with it.

Not sure what the problem is but hopefully I'll be able to clean it up, grease the pins and it'll be fine.
Thanks.
I was hoping the emergency brake was engaged but it wasn't. We've never used the parking brake so I doubt that's the problem but I'll know more once I get into it.

If it's not used and then activated (maybe by someone who doesn't normally drive it?), it could seize on and be causing these issues. Interested to gear what you find.

I'm addicted to Anti-Seize. I use the gray stuff. I would use the grease on the caliper slider and Anti-seize on the pins that hold the pads in. I Anti-Seize everything. Maybe in 10 years the next owner will thank me. Wife hates the stuff though. Doesn't come out in the wash,

I guess having no pad on the piston side will cause a bad grinding noise. LOL
Somehow the inside pad fell out along w/ the upper locator and the pad backing separated from the pad. I can't find the upper locator but the pad and backing plate were between the rotor and dust shield.
I have new rotors and pads being delivered Tuesday but Sewell doesn't have the rebuild kit, piston or upper pad retainer / locator in stock. I have family coming in from out of town Wednesday so I'm in a time crunch. Has anyone used a remanned caliper from Napa? I was thinking of getting the one in the link below, it comes w/ the caliper and pad locators. At some point I'll rebuilt the OEM one.

Nobody has a remanned caliper in stock...I was thinking of deburring the face of the piston but even if I debur it, it won't put an even amount of pressure on the pad backplate so I had Sewell overnight a rear caliper.
After looking at Sewells rear brake diagram I see there are 2 pad wear indicators, 1 for each side. I didn't have one on my passenger side so in case I don't have them on my drivers side can someone tell me where these go? I needed the 2 pad wear indicators and 1 top locator. Since sewell didn't have them in stock I ordered these from amazon:
