Default New gx470 owner speedo occasionally not working

Like the title says. I just bought a used gx470 2004. It has 96k on it. I have a problem with the speedo not working occasionally. It still tracks miles and doesn't shift weird so it's not the speed sensor. I have read a few things about the lube in the cluster getting gunky and not letting it work properly. I have seen a few articles about being able to clean and use some wd-40 to get it working again. Just wanted to see what advice or solutions everybody has. Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't think that there is any sort of lubricant to go nasty on these, as they should just be electrical stepper motors running the needles. Have you had any other issues? Like with the Cruise control?

Like YoshiMan said it's all electrical. Nothing to lube like in the old days. I had to replace a stepper motor on my Denali speedo. It was $5 on Ebay. I don't know if the Lexus is the same.

I havent had any other issues. I took the cluster out and looked at it. No excessive dust and all the electrical connections are tight. I occasionally when I open the door and get in I can hear something clicking kinda like a relay sound and the gauges flutter a little then it stops. The only thing I can think is to replace the whole unit. I have been looking online and it seems like you cant get replacement parts and all the companies I have contacted dont work on Lexus or they dont work on that model. I have looked up a new replacement combination meter and its about 500. I want to do the work myself because its easy, but does anybody know how to put the correct miles in the new one or are they stored on the computer itself? I know Lexus can do it but them im sure they will want to do all the install and make me pay more. Any thoughts?
