Soft Car Top Luggage Bag-fit question.
We have a soft car top luggage bag which is about 8 inches longer than the between cross rail maximum length. Is there any reason I could not remove the back cross rail and use the rear spoiler to secure the backside of the carrier. I have lambswool strips to cushion the straps. I assume the most force to secure the load is front and side tie downs?
Crazy stupid or should work fine..thoughts??

Your idea should work. That spoiler mounting is secure. I weigh 190 lbs and use the spoiler as a grab handle to get up on the back bumper step. The spoiler hasn't come off - yet.
