The 4 Runner is a nice car / truck. The GX is just a very up scale car / truck. If you set them side by side and you can afford either, the Lexus is just a nicer car based on an already good product.

With the tax breaks (section 179, etc.) my GX-470 is cheaper than the fully loaded Toyota 4-runner. 4-Runner doesn't have a GVWR of 6,000 lbs or over so no tax breaks.

ARIST
I like the 4Runner more than the GX why I bought the 4Runner and the price was the same to me and I got the 4Runner, I perferred the styling over the GX, both inside and out.

Usually 4Runner buyers are the one who can't afford the GX,
Toyota owners never had the option of buying an upscale 4Runner before

since you don't (or I assume you don't) have a Lexus or ever owned a Lexus, you would not have or had appreciated a Lexus or what it felt to own one.
You sound like the Commercial, Im glad you like your Lexus cause I like it just as much as my 4Runner.

I did set them side by side, since the Prestige Auto Group in Jersey has a Toy dealer down the street from Lexus, the Toy manager happened to be at the Lexus place and he parked a Black LTD next to a Black GX and I compared them their but I like the 4Runner more.

The 2 guys fighting over war/terrorism on the morning news where talking about that and the drunk Kennedy (sp) mentioned that, he gave up a poor fight.

Pretty ****in sweet that with the tax break it cost less, now think about how much you could have saved it you bought a Prius

Default Hmm

This is getting pretty heated in here. Different strokes for different folks. Some of us prefer a Lexus, some a 4Runner. You call a 4Runner a stripped down GX, you could in turn call the GX a glorified 4Runner. Either way, they're both great trucks, isn't that all that matters? Just choose the one that suits you! That's what matters. I'm glad some of you like your GX, and I'm extremely happy with my 4Runner, even with what you consider "crappy panels." It suits me better than a GX. A GX comes off decidedly more upscale, and rather stuffy, which is what I feel Arist embodies perfectly. So even if the price was the same, I'm going to take my 4Runner.
