Our GX470 has the rear view camera and it is good, but as far as i know, parking sensors were never an option on the GX470. Many of the competitors have them, why Lexus did not put them on the GX - i have no idea.

We have sensors on our other cars and frankly, i find the sensors more useful than the camera.

I am thinking about adding them. I am not afraid of the work or running the wiring, but i am kind of stuck on which aftermarket parts/hardware/system to buy. Ebay, amazon, etc...all sell parking sensor systems that sound great on paper.

Has anyone here added parking sensors to the GX or any other car? What parts/brand did you use? Any tips? Issues?

I just purchased an electromagnetic parking sensor for the rear bumber. Reason I went with that version is because it doesnt involve any holes to be drilled thru the bumber, instead the sensor is installed on the inside of the bumber...Purchased it off of ebay for about 20 bucks. I saw the reviews and they all seem pretty good. I will let you know how it goes once I receive and install it....

Installation only requires for you to mount the sensor on the backside of the bumber, wiring the power source to your reverse lights, a ground, and mounting the speaker. Pretty straight forward...
