Seat belt buzzer revisted
I have done a search and want to be sure I have the right information. My 2004 gx 470 the seat belt buzzer alarm does not work. the lights do but no sound for the alarm . The owners manual states there is an audible buzzer as well as a visual blinking light for drivers as well as passenger. I have the extended warranty took truck in to the dealer they could not find the issue then told me that the buzzer is on the circuit board of the gauge cluster. So they replaced the entire cluster assemble including the clear plastic and the bezel. Still the seat belt buzzer does not work, The tech spoke to lexus corp and they informed him that the 2004 gx 470 does not have an audible seat belt warning. Even though it states in the owners manual that it does. I did a search on the forum and several thread say this is so and there is some confusion as to what year did the seat belt buzzer start to work. I am glad that the changed out the cluster because my orig one I had the plastic was dirty and foggy and the speedo at the 0 mph up to the 30 mph was dimmed as if a bulb was burned out.. The new cluster gauge assemble is crystal clear and the entire speedo and all of the warning lights are bright and all functioning and all of the needles on the gauges are bright and crystal clear. Can anyone who has a 2004 gx470 confirm this is so that there is no audible alarm ! I don't respond well to the lights and the buzzer reminds me annoyingly to buckle up.

All I get is the initial chimes when starting my GX. I don't have the warning that won't stop until you buckle your seat belt. My Mom has that in her '12 Toyota and I HATE it!!
See post #4, he said he had a '04 and an '09 and both had it but others said theirs didn't??

I have a 2004 with no seat belt alarm.
On another note, I've found a few things in the manual that are incorrect for my year vehicle.

+3 on not having the seat belt chime on my 2004. Just the blinking lights.
My G/F has an 08 4Runner which also WILL NOT SHUT UP when the seatbelts are undone. Kind of annoying when i am just moving it 14 feet out of the garage

I knew I'd get asked that
I can't really remember anything specific but I do remember reading that there was a panel that housed the First Aid kit. Doesn't exist in mine.
I often pull out the book and read through things while waiting for the kids to get out of school. Every once in a while you will read about a switch, a function, or a panel that does not exist. I would guess the manuals are just generic and hope to address most models without having to print a bunch of different ones.
Cheers!

For sure! I had an 89' Landcruiser which had a few pages in the manual which described how to use the front and rear cable actuated differential lockers, which were NEVER available in the US market....
