Default How long have you waited?

Just put $1K down last Sunday at Tustin Lexus since they didn't have a fully loaded sand dollar and the salesperson said she was sure they would get one in next week. She called yesterday and said it would be at least a month. Since they already cashed my check it would be nice if I had the car. How long have you guys had to wait from the day you ordered your GX?

Default 6 weeks and counting

I got on the list just after Thanksgiving, and
asked for either Sand Dollar or Dorado Gold.

I'm supposed to get a Dorado Gold vehicle within
the week.

They cashed my check for $500 immediately.

I wouldn't call this process "ordering".
It's a wait list to take what they are making.

It took me 3 weeks to get mine. I went to a local dealer and was 49th on the waiting list, decided to use an auto consultant and they found a GX for me in CA with the color and options I wanted. It cost me an extra $300 to have it shipped to Seattle.

P.S. I paid MSRP, but I think everyone is.

Hmm. I paid less. Not looking to brag but some dealers are dealing....

Were you on a waiting list? The demand for this vehicle is high in the Pacific NW -- more SUV's per capita than anywhere else.

Default Still Waiting?

Gave deposit to dealer number one on Dec 12 and another one on Dec 19th. Still waiting. It must be the Pacific Northwest, I guess.

Default MSRP?

I'm in New Jersey. Went to a dealer in December - no cash deposit - was told my GX would be in January 20th. Negotiated down to 500 over invoice with fully optioned GX but had to take Lexus link (which I didnt want). Just waiting now....

Thumbs up at MSRP

Over here in California, the GX-470s are selling at MSRP

I have not heard of a dealership around here that is selling these hot SUVs for less

I'm very happy with the vehicle even knowing that I paid full sticker on it.

For one, it's still a rarity right now to have one.

177MPH:

I would be interested in knowing which dealer you are getting your GX from in NJ. I am in NJ also and have spoken to most of the dealers here, as well as in NY and Connecticut and more than one has been happy to let me walk over any amount of discount at all (let alone a 6500 discount to get the car at 500 over cost).

Are you leasing or financing? If so, is the dealer making up the "discount" in the financing rate? I talked to one dealer that had raised the interest factor in the lease quote by almost 3 percentage points to grab another few thousand dollars in hidden profit, even selling the car at MSRP (needless to say, we didn't buy from them).

If you are getting a fully loaded GX for around $49,000, that would translate to about a $650 per month lease (including NJ tax) for 39 months based on Lexus current "buy rate" interest rate factor and a residual of 57%. The same car at $54,000 MSRP leases for about $800. I would love to get any information I could that could save me $150 per month.

Thumbs up Toyota generally does not play.....

....."supply and demand" games like Honda. They produce as many as possible (Volume business). I predict that It's just a matter of about another 6 months or so, and the GX will be selling at a typical "Lexus average" of $1000 to $1500 over invoice!. Right now because it's a brand new model it's bound to command full-sticker in some areas! .........FYI, the LS 430 sold at (or close to) full-sticker for almost a year. Now you can get it as low as $1000 over invoice (maybe lower if you really search)

I really really doubt that anyone can get such a new vehicle for $500 over invoice, unless you are banging the owner of the dealership. Hell, I bet the Aztek sold for near sticker for at least a month. Well, maybe not...

Default MSRP

Sounds hard to believe - but it's true. Basically I'm paying a little over 48k for a fully loaded model. I've got my own financing and I'm buying - not leasing. The sales person - who I've dealt with before - seemed very happy at an all cash deal. No paperwork hassles I suppose. I'll be throwing in some personal gifts when the deal is done - but tyhats a small price to pay.

What dealership is this? I would like to buy them at $500 over invoice, sell them for profit, and take a nice long vacation......

Default Yikes....

This was what I was worried about. I can understand people thinking this is untrue - or being angry they paid too much - so lets just say I actually paid 54k. Cool? Now everyones happy and everyone got a good deal. Now about those accessories I was looking for..

Who makes a push bar for the gx?
