Default 2008 GX470...CPO or Not....

Looking at this 2008 GX470 CPO tonight
65K on the ODO
Dealer is asking 33K for it before processing/tax....

Actual car :
http://www.pohankalexuschantilly.com...-VA/2041995333

Looks like a clean truck, I am interested in the third row seating, have two kids...

I am coming from Toyota world, RAV4 etc....

Are these CPO prices realistic or should I be able to knock off 3-4K off that?
Considering the economy, V8 and gas prices....

Not that many CPO GX's in my area

Pohanka Lexus used cars are usually way overpriced. I remember that when I was shopping for a GX couple of years ago. Since I'm not up-to-date on current pricing for our cars, you may want to cross-reference with other sources in our area to get an idea of what this one should be worth.

Good luck.

Their asking price is only about $1000 more than Edmunds says my 2008 with 60K miles on it is worth, which ought to cover the CPO warranty. Doesn't seem too overpriced to me.

I bought a 1 owner 07 with 63k miles about 5 months back. They had it listed at $29.9k and gave me more than I expected for trade on my 2000 Land Cruiser and barely even haggled ($500 off). Mine is very similar except it is the sport package and factor rear entertainment but no hitch or spoiler. Seems in line with what I would expect to pay.

If you can get a CPO for a fair price with enough life left in it (I think it's what wver comes first - two years or 100K mi), go for it. Otherwise, I say save your money and trust in the Lexus reputation (once the truck successfully passes a PPI and you get it's service history).

I've got an '08 GX w/45k mi and its been solid. Just warped rotors and a screwy side view mirror motor, which are both detailed ad nauseum on this site. As I approached the end of my new car warranty, I hemmed and hawed on buying an extended warranty from Toyota / Lexus. In the end, I passed ... deciding that I bought a Lexus because of its reputation for reliability and that it hadn't let me down. And I've religiously serviced it.

What also helped me make my decision was that my daily is a 13 year old 2GS430 w/109K mi and its been rock solid.

Happy shopping!

We've had my wife's 06' for sale for 3 weeks now and have gotten one lowball offer of $19K. We're asking $24K for it. Its got 68K miles and every option but KDSS & rear seat entertainment.

I thought we might be asking too much but from what you paid, it doesn't sound like it. Is the demand for used GX's low or what?
