Default Need some advice on a problem.

2006 GX470 57000 miles loaded. I purchased this new and I was wondering if anyone on here can give me a bit of input on what you may think is going on.

My truck when merging onto a high speed roadway my truck doesn't seem to want to shift into the next gear. Almost like if it was a manual I would have to shift it. It really whines out before it shifts.

Also My husband is hearing a humming/vibration from the rear when we are doing about 65 steady I've already had my tires removed and checked to see if I may have thrown a weight or a broken belt but everything is good. I have Michelins on the truck and they are about 2 yrs old. No damage on the tires I have them rotated every 5000 miles.

I had the truck in for service and told them about this. The Lexus service rep told me his mechanic told him he found nothing. I asked them to check again and he said the mechanic would take it home to drive it at a speed that was needed. Again I was told nothing was found. Got the truck back from the seat repair don't even think the truck was taken home.

Truck went back in the follow week which they came and picked up the truck and delivered it back to me again telling me they could find nothing and the mechanic drove it up and down the Blue Route and found nothing. Here's the problem It's 7.5 miles to the dealership and 7.5 back to my house. They picked up the truck at 56602 and it was brought back to me at 56617 when I questioned them about this they told me the mileage was wrong. I told them your right you lied. Does anyone do their jobs anymore?

Any idea's as to what it could be? Had the "clunk" fixed 2 months after it was purchased.

Am I missing something? The truck had less milage on it when it was returned? 56,602 down to 56,017. Must be a time warp thing, no wonder the transmission is not shifting foward. Have to hear from other experts on the forum for this one.

Question Which dealer are you using ? This may be relevant as to questionable service practices. You can PM me if you dont want to make a public statement as to what dealer you use, I am in the suburban phila area and I might agree with you regarding your dealer.

Sorry 56602-56617 = 15 miles which is how many miles it is to the dealership and back.

Ya I got it...just thought you could use a laugh while your dealer is jerking you around. Not fun!

I guess you gotta laugh because dealing with the dealership really requires skill and persistence...

Mrblister: I found the service records and you're right it is surprising the lack of notation on the record. Thanks for the advice.

it really pays to find an independent dealer, a place that give you contact with the mechanic...i hate the lexus dealership, they take your car from you, it goes to a place you cannot see, you have no idea who worked on it and what they did. Did they have any questions from you? NO! and then it suddenly appears, washed, (as though that is supposed to make you feel better after they did nothing to the truck) and with a huge bill, and maybe you got to sip a bottle of poland spring water or coffee from a pod with a cookie while you were waiting.
