hi i have a 2003 lexus gx470 the problem is that when in drive it does not move it only revs up but when in 4 wheel drive it does move i put transmission oil in and it did run in drive but broke down again only reved up did not move so im wondering what it could be i was told it was the transmission then just found out from someone else that its some sensor or transfer case? i dont know can someone tell me what it could be and if it has to do with the transfer case or sensor what part do i need?

When in Drive its ALWAYS in All wheel drive mode?? Make sure you transfer case is in H (high) it should always stay there.

yes i do have it on H (high) but when in L (low) it does not move anywhere

Low range is kinda tricky sometimes to get it to shift in L--you sure you are feeling it actually drop(click ) into L

Put tansmission in neutral while stopped and then slap the transfer case into Low gear; then put transmission back into drive.

Also, Try running the lever back and fourth hard a couple times. (while in neutral)

Perhaps the linkage is sticky, if there was something wrong in the drive train I dont think you would be moving at all.

Where did you put the trans fluid.? As far as I Know the trans is sealed and there is no fill tube l.
