Rear Seat (Headrests) DVD Players
We have an aftermarket DVD system installed by the dealer when we bought our 07 GX. For some reason neither headrest DVD will power up. I checked all the fuses but I couldn't find any that were blown. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

You need to check if the power is coming into the headrests. Secondly was it playing prior to this problem or was delivered to you with the inop Rear Headrest DVD. thirdly are they connected to play via your Nav Screen. Run thru the power lines from the amp ( source ) and check for connectivity.

Thank you for the reply. Those are all good questions but I'm still trying to figure out where the power unit is installed. The wire coming from the players are running underneath the center console so I'm thinking it's there. I hate to go through all the effort of removing the console and find out it's not there, could it be mounted sanywhere else?
Thanks for your help.

Sorry I should have read the reply better. Yes, both players worked up until now. When the kids watched movies they controlled them from the back seats, we never had to touch the nav. screen.

Ok Let me know have you got a LEXUS OEM Nav system or not.
If you have it, then Do the following.
Press the INFO button to display the “Information” screen on the navigation unit.
B. Press the “Screen Setting” touch button on the navigation display.
C. Under the “Rear Lock” option, press the “OFF” touch button and then press “OK” in the
upper right part of the display.
D. Press the DVD switch on the RSE system, (If a DVD is NOT already in the player, insert one)
and confirm screen is “ON” and the system will play DVD’s.
cheers

man777,
While I'm waiting for my wife to get home with the GX I was thinking. Will the procedure you described work with the aftermarket (Invision) DVD players installed?

Probably not since it's not OEM factory equipment. Perhaps it makes sense to go to the Invision website for troubleshooting info?

Well I tried what you suggested but no luck. Since it's an aftermarket (Invision) system the Nav system didn't recognize the players. I'm thinking the control unit is the problem. I confirmed there is power going to the box but I still don't know why the players won't power up.

Thanks for the replies.
As for the questions, I don't know if the players have a remote on/off wire. I do know we have two (2) remotes which are meant to turn on/off the players along with a power button on each player. Neither of these methods of turning on/off the players work.

You should have a switch on the RSE to turn the DVD on for the OEM intalled ones having the OEM Navigation System
For vehicles without Lexus Navigation System, perform the procedure to turn “OFF” the
RSE Lock function..
A. Push the audio control **** multiple times to cycle through the various options (Bass, Mid,
Treble, etc.) until “Rear Lock” is shown on the screen.
B. Turn the audio control **** so the display says “OFF” next to “REAR LOCK”.
C. Press the DVD switch on the RSE (if a DVD is NOT already in the player, insert one.) and
confirm screen is “ON” and the system will play DVDs .
And for 3rd Party DVD, I suggest contact the vendor who supplied these. That would make a better sense, as redrocks mentioned.
