Nav partially working
Changed the battery in my 2003 GX 470 today and all hell has broken loose. I have been able to reset my windows and moon roof but my Nav has a mind of its own.
MAP, DEST and MENU screens are all blank. However CLIMATE, AUDIO, DISPLAY works perfectly.
Any help will be appreciated.

There was a TSB to this, but coved for 2007-2009 GX models for this blanking of the screen.
Lexus issued a TSB for a improvement to the defect your are facing for a straight forward replacement for above model years. The radio receiver assy needs to be replaced. Best bet get a replacement from the yard or troubleshoot by removing and checking it out with a ace electronic expert.

Earlier this week, in my 2005 GX, I had the same problems. Also, the mirrors, remote entry, auto steering wheel tilt didn't work. The lights for the airbag, 'vsc off', 'vcs trac' and 'vsc active' were on. Turned out the ECU-B 10A fuse blew, it's on the driver's side in the engine compartment. Replaced the fuse and all is well now. Crossin my fingers.

Mann777,
thanks for the response. the radio receiver assembly works perfectly. It is the navigation system that appears to have a problem. The screen works perfectly for audio and climate. It comes on properly when car starts. It is not completely blank.

Hi, i have checked every available fuse in the car and it appears mine is not a fuse problem. Did the problems you encountered occur as a result of battery change too?
Anyone with any other option i can try?

You can try to unplug the connector to the NAV ECU under the passenger seat for 1 min. Maybe the NAV ECU needs a good power reset to start.

Quick Update
Ran a diagnostic on the car and came up with no error codes. Also found out that my DVD screen (roof mounted) for RSES is also not working. So I am assuming the problem is with something the Nav system and DVD screen share in common.
Any idea what this might be?

NAV ECU aka NAV DVD player.
You have the OEM RSES system? Can you describe the problem a little clear? Such as the DVD player not working (no power?) or display not working (no power? no response?).

Hi Everyone
I finally figured the problem with my nav and display screen. It was the ipod adapter i installed that was messing up my system and it has been resolved by just disconnecting the adapter. Apparently the battery change seems to have reset the car and it became uncompatible with the adapter.
Thanks everyone for all your help. i am very happy lexus owner once again.
