Default Gx470 06 RSES DVD remote problems replacement

Greetings I'm new to this forum, I have problems with my remote, I acquired from eBay for my Lexus GX470 2006, this control does not work,i replace the batteries with correct 3v and still does not work. I tried it with a camera phone if emitted light and this works that means that the remote its working but in the car does not perform any function on the dvd screen.. I would like to know if anyone has had the same problem and has been solved thanks

Read your instructions in the manual . There is good info on how to use the remote. I also had issue with mine till I followed the owners manual instructions

Also on another note there are two remote controls for this vehicle. One is audio entertainment system
and the other is for the Rear Entertainment system . If you have the audio remote it wont work the rear entertainment system

Read the online manual thoroughly and found nothing helpful. Anything specific to look for? I am at the point now where I'm just going to take it in to my dealer and see if they can figure it out. Hate to pay if it's something easy though.

Yes. I definitely have the right remote. I'm using two different ones. I bought remote with part number 86170-60030 which worked for a bit then stopped and I also borrowed my in laws remote for their 04 GX470 and it also worked for a bit. Changed batteries and all so that wasn't it. I'm wondering if it could be the IR sensor in the actual pull down screen that's failing?

Yes. Definitely correct remote. I actually have family that own a 2004 GX470 and tested their remote when we first bought vehicle and it worked perfectly. Then I pursued the eBay avenue to get one of our own. It also worked for a short time. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. Went and bought new 3V battery and that didn't fix it. Borrowed the remote from family again and it didn't work either? Wondering if the IR sensor in these vehicles can go bad or something?

One thing I've run into:

I don't think it's an IR sensor problem I think it's a remote battery problem.

Buy Energizer or Duracell batteries for the remote. I buy them on Amazon or the local drug store. The Rayovac button cell batteries from Walmart are poor quality and do not last but only a few days.

Also, when storing the remote be sure that buttons on the remote are not being pushed in. The batteries will drain if, for instance, the remote is stored in the seatback pocket of the front row seats. The pocket can depress the remote toggle/directional button and drain the battery. I've chewed threw a couple batteries fast that way.

Those are just a couple things I can think of that should help. I've also experienced the remote working one day and then not working the next. Try this and let us know.
