Great write up, Now I have the ticking and limited options. I wonder if it would be worth it to pull the stock manifolds and weld/repair them instead of replacing them.

As shown in the pictures, they are super thin... you can give it a try but for the cost and the aggravation, it might be worth just buying a new OEM set.

Too bad we can't fit Tundra headers. There's a member on the Tundra site (dirtydeeds; the guy that makes his own mufflers: http://www.dirtydeedsindustries.com/) that's getting a company to make long tube headers for the 1st gen Tundras.

Hopefully Doug Thorley will be producing headers for our 120 platform in the coming year.

I did read about Doug's projects and where someone had even hinted that he may be building something that would fit our vehicles but I could not find any evidence that he actually finished... or started

... and of course, I was far to lazy to contact him

@ROSCOGX470 - Once I saw the OEM manifold, I didn't even take the time to price them. If they are ridiculous in price, the Pacesetter's might be the affordable option, even if you have to have them repaired before you put them on. The guys at the shop I use only charged me $60.00 to weld them up and send it to the machine shop. I thought that was fair.

Then that's the way to go, guaranteed not to leak and still cheaper than OEM

Any unusual rattle inside the car? The reason I ask is that I put on a borla muffler in my 4runner and at certain RPM, there is some rattle from the dash.

I am buying my friend's 04 GX. I want to put exhaust and bigger tires on it.

Thanks
