Question Infiniti QX56 rims on GX470

Hi All,

I am a new owner of a 2007 Lexus GX470. Love everything about the car except the stock 17 inch rims. I am not a fan of big shiny rims either so I am looking for OEM quality rims. One good fit I found is Infiniti QX56 rims.. Will these directly fit the GX ? What mods may I have to do to make them fit ?

Here are the specs on both sets of rims:

GX470 Fitment
Bolt Pattern (in): 6x5.50
Bolt Pattern (mm):6x139.7
Offset (mm):0 to 20
Front CB (mm):108
Rear CB (mm):108
Stud Size: 12x1.5

Infiniti QX560 Fitment
Bolt Pattern (in): 6x5.50
Bolt Pattern (mm): 6x139.7
Offset (mm):15 to 30
Front CB (mm)77.8
Rear CB (mm):77.8
Stud Size: 12x1.25

I am not too well versed with rim fitment but to my novice eyes, looks like the Centre Bore (CB) would be the issue. I have seen people mount FJ rims on the GX and looks like it has a smaller CB too.

If it does not fit directly, Will I need to get the CB machined for the QX56 rims ? Also these rims are 22" .. But are OEM quality Infiniti rims.. Any issues due to the size ? Please let me know.

Thanks in advance !

You are correct that the hub size will not work. If you search you tube you can find videos on how to machine them to fit. It is possible to use a router with a 1/2" bit. Seems like a crude approach but it works.

FJ Cruiser wheels fit with no modifications.

What would you do for center caps if you got the Infinity wheels to fit?

I would just strip the Infinit logo (Looks like its just a small tick on) and order similar Lexus logos from ebay, Any issues with the 22inch tires ?

I have an option of picking up a decent set of FJ rims too. The stock rims have winters mounted on them and I can use those as winter tires and use the FJ rims for summers. Does the tpms in FJ rim automatically sync up with our trucks ?

Ian : I saw the pic of your GX with FJ rims. Liked it. I have a silver GX too so a bit tempted to go that route.

I believe they will need to be manually synced up, I'm not sure what's involved in that as I deleted the TPMS system instead. I know these trucks can control 2 sets of TPMS sensors though, there's a switch under the steering wheel to toggle back and forth between sets. Not sure how the spare works, as it wouldn't likely change with the summer/winter wheels.

Thanks, I'm really happy with the way the FJC wheels look on the truck!

The only weird thing is that specs show FJ's centre bore to be 106.1 and ours is 108. But I guess it still works as you are running them. Will check out the FJ rims tonight and let you guys know..

On the other hand, some machine shops are telling me it may not be safe to machine the Infiniti rims from 77.8 to 108.. .. still looking into that one too.
