Default GX Pricing

Hi everyone,

Just joined the forum and this is my first post.

I went by the local Lexus dealer. I spoke to a salesman and said that they got extra allocation. Will be getting a vehicle with the color and options that I want.

He basically told me that there are no negotiations on this car. He said it was MSRP?

Is that what I can expect with regards to pricing for this vehicle?

Thanks.

Any time there is the release of a new vehicle, yes. It is safe to say you will get this kind of treatment. The dealers make their money at this time mostly.

So many people are in line, you cannot blame them.

Looknow,

Thanks for the info. I understand that I would be paying MSRP because it's a new vehicle and in high demand. If I get this vehicle, it would be my first lexus and was wondering how are Lexus pricing in general? Say, if I wait a few months, do you think I can get one with some discount off MSRP?

Anyone else have any comments.

Thanks again.

Default Depends on your area

The discounts off MSRP, especially on a newly released vehicle will be directly related to the demand in your area. The other aspect will be whether your dealer will be more likely to discount for a customer or sell to another dealer (sometimes non-Lexus) at MSRP. So it's really a tough call. If I had to guess, based on the great reviews the GX has gotten (even before it has offically hit the streets) it would be unlikely that you will see any significant discounts before the 6 month mark.

I truly feel for the vehicle Lexus is delivering, the price is a bargain.

When you look over what Lexus brings mechanically (Steering, Suspension, Engine, Transmission, quiet interior), and feature wise they are tough to beat in their price range.

RST - things get easier on price if demand slows a bit or supply increases AND you're willing to be less picky about color/options. If you catch a sales guy at the end of the month and he's got 4 GX's on the lot for example and you're willing to take one, you're like to get a discount, but when demand far outstrips supply like now, there's no need for the dealer to discount.
