Default Anyone else's HVAC system just quit and then start again...

I drove about 25 mi today, made a brief stop and then continued home. On the return trip, the system would not blow any air in any mode at all. While driving, I cycled it through various modes and it would not do a damn thing. Later in the day I started up and it worked fine... Anyone else have that happen? What might cause that to occur?

That's correct. When the issue arises, no air will, blow at all no matter what setting the unit is in. Yesterday and today the system worked all of about5 minutes over 1.5 hrs driving. Glad we are in Phoenix wherein 70 degrees When it does work, it sporadically turns on and off regardless of what setting it is in. We have the touchscreen nav unit for controls

Additional Info:

The rear blower functions at all speeds and at all times. The front now appears to be 90% inop. A call to my local Lexus parts counter directed me to check out the "Blower Control Module" Part # 8716513010. Has anyone had any experience with checking/replacing that item?

For blower control modules, they typically either go or work completely. Not much middle ground. FWIW, in most German cars, issues like this are indicative of a failing ignition switch. Not 100% sure if the architecture in Toy/Lex is similar but any other strange gremlins rearing their head... i.e radio/nav/interior lights/alarm/battery drain? Might try jiggling key in ignition next time this occurs to see if it remedies front blower. Probably will not b/c rear should be driven via parallel set up.

That said... wiring issues to control modules (i.e. frayed/heat damaged) will create instances of intermittent functionality as you're having so I'd start there.

Good luck

Default ac blower intermittant

2002 es 300 - ac blower sometimes works on engine start and then will work until we turn off motor. Sometimes doesn't come on at all at start and will not come on. Some days it seems to work and other days not? AC blower control module problem? Relay problem? not sure where to start. need to try to resolve myself if can. thanks for any help or advice.

Where would the blower module be located, and is it easily accessible. The blower in my '98 LS400 (190k mi) is shutting off all of a sudden. It will then come back on for a few seconds or even minutes and then shut back off again. I can feel the cold air seeping through the vents, but the blower just wont push it through when it cuts off. Also I have noticed that this only happens in very high or very low environmental temps. Any help is more than appreciated.

best,
Henry

Do the simple/cheap things first -- check the condition of your cabin air filter (it's behind the glovebox).

The module appears to be on the right side of the air duct + blower assembly.
