Default Need help - thanks

hi you guys,

so last week my flat tire indicator came one - next day i went to check the tire pressure on my truck and they all had 35 psi except for one with 28 psi and i pump more air and they all have 35 psi - next i drove the truck around town for errands and still the indicator did not go away so i unplug the battery for 5 seconds several times as that did not do anything - after driving to and from work the indicator went away - but now i have no stereo sound - the speaker produce no sound but my aftermarket dd setup works fine - why am i not getting audio sound? did the battery unplugging short a circuit or something? - thanx all...

Thats weird about the stereo and unplugging battery should not affect it at all.

You need to make sure that you check the air pressure in your spare tire as well--It gets read too for pressure,

^^^ really? the spare too? - how do they read that? i know on other cars the pressure system is read by wheel rotation - the spare never rotates....

It has a sensor in there as well. I dont think it has to rotate. Thats what I was told and heard by lexus dealer. I keep my spare inflated properly and never have had a light in the 4 years I have owned it

Mine went on. I put air in all the tires but the spare. It went off at the next gas fill. Than next day wallah it's on again. I dunno what to do accept fill the spare and see what happens but it's kind of a hassle.

Your stereo thing could be that there is a ground or connection to your battery via/your system that you touched or disconnected when you played with the battery wires. Do you see anything there?

well, i did checked the battery again, i only removed the negative terminal cable and that's all i touched... the radio turns on and lights up, dvd plays and all but just no sound... i don't understand how the speakers could be affected by my removing the negative terminal... strange...

actually infinirx... that grounding thing just got me wondering so i went into the garage again... disconnected the negative terminal and let it separate longer for a round 1/2 minute and reconnect it... "clik"... that was what i heard and sure enough my stereo is blasting again... i think my problem may have been i dis/re connect too many times and too quickly trying to reset the computer without loosing my clock and reprogramming the windows again so i may have shortcircuit or something there that line my radio...

thanx all, i know i haven't been posting here alot lately (not like the honda civic fanboy in the old days), but this is a great subforum all together...

Yeah I did so many installs on my last Lexus that stuff like this happened once in a while. Why I suspected this. Glad it worked. Let me know if the tire indicator goes on again. I am really perplexed by it and hate the idea of lowering my spare to get at it to fill it.

Standard SOP for any Electrical connectors or Battery terminals removed,"" Wait for One minute and Re-connect"".

infinirx... yeah, so far the tire indicator has remained off - if it happens again then i will lower that darn spare at next oil change and check/inflate it - but ur right about the spare being monitored because on my lexus service history the spare tire was the cause of last tire indicator and the tpms sensor was replaced by lexus dealer - but i hate to have to deal with that however...

thanx mann777, ur advice is sound as always...

thanx booyah...
