Lexus gx470, 2004, running board light drivers side not working
Hi,
Hope somebody can help.
Have an imported (to Netherlands) Lexus GX470, 2004
Now the running board lights at the driver side aren't working.
The passengers side ones are working!!
Replaced them with the other side light bulbs, still nothing.
Checked fuses, nothing.
Also the indicator light of the instrumentpanel buttons (side mirror heating, electricity, etc) don't light up.
Any connection with this??
Thanks a lot

The heated mirrors is probably just an LED. The switches pop out, so you can get at the LED.
This tread shows the heated seat switch, but all switches are similar

Run an advanced Search, under Search at the top of the page. Don't forget under advanced search to select "GX470, first Generation".
With regards to the puddle lights, I think the wires run through the door threshold, under the plastic cover, which pops off. At some point, both sides have to tie together. Can't help with that location. I have an inexpensive 12 volt tester. Has a long wire with an aligator clip, which you clamp on any ground/ body/ bolt. The other end has a sharp probe, with light. You push the probe into any wire, and if the circuit is energized, the bulb will light up.

Which fuse you have replaced. ? if it is Fuse in Driver Side Footwell side. Locate the Fuse 10A IG1 and you need to replace this one. As this one controls the LH side running board. Not anything else. Check the condition before you replace. And follow Ancient instruction of the connectivity part.

Hi man777,
In another thread you said both sides are on one fuse, so couldn't be a fuse??

Broken crimp
I had a similar issue. It turned out to be one of the wires had broken off in the crimp of the connector that connects in half along the running board. I was a pain in the *** to get out and recrimp but nothing a bit of brute force and ignorance couldn’t solve.
Unless both sides don’t have lights on then it’s likely a wiring issue
