GX 470 Negotiated Price with Options vs. Dealer Invoice
I just did a test drive of the new GX 470...I like the smoothness but am concerned about the swing out rear hatch...I enjoy the roll down window & lift up gate on my 4Runner better!
I have a question for all of you on the waiting list for the GX 470...How much are you paying and what options combo did you pick for this price?
I am looking at ordering one w/o Lexus Link and the 3rd Row seats to get the price <$50k...maybe closer to $45k which would justify it easily over the 4Runner Limited. Any ideas?
Also, the local Lexus dealer offers 2 yr - 25k miles all inclusive service but this is much less than BMW, Audi and Volvo service coverages...Is this typical?
I am also looking at the new Volvo XC90 but it looks like a lot of the options are dealer installed and n/a until 2003...

Hated when they do that
I only wanted the Navigation system. Will settle with Mark Levinson since it is required. However, I am not happy with the fact that Lexus is trying to cram the other options in so to not allow you the ability to choose. I wish there is a place where folks can go and complain.

If I go the GX route, I only really need the ML\Nav. I will never use the 3rd row seat which is a $2000 add on. The rear DVD\LCD may be used but I really don't need that either. We will all have to see how they come in

"options" not
I doubt you will ever see a GX w/o third row. Why not consider the new RX330 - most of the features of the GX - more cargo room - and less $$ if you don't need a third row it might do the trick.

I looked at the GX and almost got one but decide certain things I just did not need and the only dealer near me is getting the GX's in for 55k so I went and got a 4Runner for 43 and it came with everything I wanted and minus all the Lexus options I did not want

no so
Our local dealer in Central Florida has received one with only wheel locks as an option. My GX is in the port and it too does not have the third row. Dealer did discount about $1500 than added a delivery charge of $499. Guess the discount is $1000.

BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Volvo all have included maintaince but will only change the oil every 10k, I don't want the oil sitting in their for that long, even the mechanics don't believe in these recommended intervals, they believe in changing the oil but since these Manufactures started changing the oil for the customers the intervals went from every 3k to every 10k, I believe clean fluid is best.
Their no bargan, just by the vehicle and take it to a reputable place or do it yourself.
My Toyota dealership offered me routine maintaince for 420 dollars over 5 years 60k, that comes out to 84 bucks a year for an average of 2.4 oil changes a year and that does not include anything major like trans, coolant or brake fluid flushing, I passed

Cause I have never had any, yet
I was looking at Michelins, the Pilot LTX "156 a peace" have no warranty and the Cross Terrain SUV "124 a peace" have a 65k warranty.
I know one of the Michelins comes on some of the 4Runners and GX470 but I got Dunlops
