GX 470 Negotiated Price with Options vs. Dealer Invoice

MSRP
We too had never paid MSRP for a vehicle, way under normally, but we have one of the 2002 Thunderbirds we had to wait on for 9 months and paid over over MSRP (I know...), my husband could hardly stand to do it, but I love the car. Now we have bought the GX, waited about 5 weeks to get it and paid MSRP (but did get them to throw in the gold package which was valued around $425, or so), so that made him feel he got a little something and they didn't offer to do that, he asked them to do it. We got the Sand Dollar Pearl and it looks awesome with the gold package. Anyway, guess it just gets down to how badly you want it, or you could wait until later and might get a better deal, but it is an awesome vehicle, we are really enjoying it (even my husband, which has never purchased anything, but American made vehicles), we've had it about 2 weeks and he has been pleasantly surprised. Good luck!

I am a Lexus dealership longtime employee and I am unable to get a GX470 for 500 over invoice! It is not possible right now with the current GX market of "supply and demand". So if your claims are true, you better be prepared to back them up. If not, then stop trying to get everybody confused. It is just plain mean.

Have you tried Prestige Lexus in Jersey on Rt 17, I was looking at a GX and the salesperson said they don't charge above MSRP at but not above.

Im really glad to hear they gave you the gold package, the stuff takes 2 minutes to put on and the kit you buy to do it cost 100 or 200 dollars and you could do a few hundred cars after seeing it done I would pass
Longo Lexus
You work at Lexus so you know how popular they are

Well, I am happy we did it. Didn't cost me anything so I saved the 100 to 200 bucks and I don't have several hundred more cars (only 3) and wouldn't want it on them...so worked for me and looks great on the sand dollar pearl. It's more than what some folks got, huh? Besides, if it starts to have problems, I can take it back to them and tell them to make it right, doubt they would do that if I had applied it myself! We bought from a great dealer in Ft. Worth and I have much confidence they will take care of us in every respect, otherwise we wouldn't have bought from them. I don't know about you, but when I want something, and it is offered for FREE, I'm going to take it.

Not looking to get everyone crazy.
If it helps everyone I paid MSRP and not a dollar under, ok? Geez. Just because I negotiate a deal everyones on my back. There are no tricks but it always helps to know someone. Lets leave it at that. Awilmit - you will like the GX. It's worth paying MSRP. Enjoy the truck.... enough....

Dealer orders
I've got a GX470 on order, and also a Volvo XC90. I like the exterior of the Volvo better but will most likely buy the GX470.
Anyway, Lexus of Greenwich gave me a flyer showing the breakdown of the GX470s they are ordering. Here it is:
third row seat, cargo mat and wheel locks: 10% MSRP 47,755
all of the above plus DVD navigation system, mark levinson audio and lexus link: 62% MSRP 51,670
all of the above plus trailer hitch and DVD rear entertainment system: 28% MSRP 53,660
They quoted me a delivery time of 3 weeks to 2 months (and that was a month ago...)

edge,
Thanks for the link to Prestige Lexus. Interesting that they have 14(!) GX470s in stock for a cars that is supposedly hard to get. Bad news is they don't have a fully-loaded silver version, which is what I want.
I am not in that big a rush to get it, still trying to figure out how to set up an LLC so I can take advantage of the 6000lb tax deductions....

New GX
I just got my GX yesterday and we love it! I only did 2 test drives and read a alot of reviews from this forum since my 1st test drive back in Jan...
I ended up paying list price for Nav + 3rd row at $51,025. I did get a fair trade in value for my 1996 4Runner and beat Carmax by $700 which I thought was nice from a dealer. Plus, I got to drive a RX300 for 4 weeks while waiting for the GX to arrive. I thought that was the deal closer vs. another dealership that I had been talking to since Dec. They could not give me a date for the configuration that I wanted and didnt seem to want to deal on the trade in.

New GX owner
First post and first Lexus. I've had my fully loaded Meridian Blue GX for a week now, and it is one nice ride with alot of features to learn. I'll be adding a rear spoiler and the moon roof wind deflector as soon as they come from irontoad. As for this thread, it looks like things have slowed down because of the war, as I was able to get out the door at 55k. I think the price was around $50-$51 before tax, lic. doc. etc. I was even able to work something out on the warranty. Now if only I can figure out how to add LCD headrest to the existing RSES and ML?
