So are the Denso SK20R11s. And Lexus dealers (at least in my area and Sewell parts online) sell the Denso SK20R11 plugs.

Nice DIY. It will help the CL community in the long run.

I knew both were OEM. I was just curious if there was a difference in the performance of the plug itself.

I doubt you could tell any difference, the iridium itself does not give a performance edge overr any standard platiinum plug, they just last way longer.

great DIY. Today I changed sparkplugs of my 05 GX. This was my first try at DIY apart from replacing air/cabin filters.
I had 2 major challenges during the whole process
1) The spark plug socket was not coming out once I tightened the first spark plug and 6" extension came out instead. To overcome this I put the duct tape around the extension and the socket and things were fine after that.
2) Removing the cable which was attached on top of the spark plug assemble was the hardest...took most time to pull that out so I can remove the head...and I could never figure out the easier way throughout the 8 plugs.

I got torque wrench as well but never used it. Just tightened it based on what I felt while removing the plugs.
But finally it looks good and hopefully it will be fine.

thanks!!!

Default Thank You

You DIY Spark Plug for 04 GX470 was GREAT! Because of your write-up it took me only an hour to change my plugs without any problems. I just turned 200,000 miles on my GX....have you changed anything else that would help me? Thanks for your post

Did my plugs today. Very easy thanks to your write up. 130000 miles and the old plugs looked good, just dirty, but threads and gap still specs. Denso iridium.
