hmmm super interesting. i will look into this more. i do think it kind of defeats the purpose in some aspects. If your trans temp, etc. starts to creap up i want to see that, i might not have an app running on my phone.

Taco_Kid I think though if one wants a ScanGauge they are already committed to the idea of a hardwire. Apps are cool but can be a tad more like a toy than a worthwhile single purpose device. I think it's a great tool but not sure if it;s really needed on a GX unless your off roading allot.

It plugs directly into the OBDII port, why do you have to hard wire it?
