Yes it is and it is what we are currently doing.

I had the exact same problem with my 2003 GX-470. Thanks for posting, the helping hints below to replace fuse 29 (ECU-B 10A) was the answer and fixed all my issues and saved me big $'s.

Just went thru the same drill, used my RH mirror in the full down position then stuff stopped working. Clock reset to 1:00 every time I started the car, map lights didn't work, running board lights either, key remote inoperative, steering wheel wouldn't swing up out of the way when removing ignition key, TRAC lights on, etc. Disconnected/reconnected battery, replaced #29 fuse, everything back to normal.

Thanks for the collective advice, hope this helps pay it forward.

Definitely don't/wouldn't want this happening to my GX, but I am happy to see that you guys have found an answer to your troubles. Subbing to this thread for hopefully NOT future use.

Default GX470 ECU-B 10A fuse

Thanks for sharing. I was having the same issues and was at a loss until I stumbled onto your post. I replaced the ECU-B 10A fuse with the spare and everything works.

THANK YOU!! So glad I found this thread yesterday. The short story is that I had a completely dead car - no lights, no dash, no electronic entry. After reading this, I pulled Fuse 27, the ECU-B fuse. I looked at it and determined it was not blown, so I dejectedly put it back in place. But then, everything worked - electronic entry, dash, car started right up. I speculate that pulling the fuse cleared the engine control computer of whatever faults were causing it not to start.

But it gets better. Here are things that I think may be related. Four months ago, I was getting the warning lights for VSC OFF, VSC TRAC, Anti Skid, Check Engine. I took it into dealer, they put it on the computer, tightened the gas cap, cleared the codes and said that is likely the problem. 3 weeks later, same lights. This time the dealer replaced the gas cap (both service free of charge). And it has been fine since then. I found this thread after the fact: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...ck-engine.html which supports the gas cap as cause. But I notice that VSC is one of the items supported by the ECU-B fuse.

And then a month ago, the car had power but wouldn't start. It was blinking the theft deterrent light. I removed the battery cables and cleaned the posts, still wouldn't start. Called AAA who checked the battery (acceptable load), and jump started the vehicle. And everything was fine until yesterday. I just wonder if it was all related.

I had a similar situation, but it only ended up being the battery.

The main symptom I recall, as this was about 2 years ago, was the self positioning steering wheel was acting up, like just completing half of the adjustment both during start up and off. Before this I did look into the fuses etc. as mentioned by other posters.

I had bought the GX used, and I noticed the used car dealer had swapped the battery after the test drive, so I am not sure if it was already having issues, or just the replacement. I replaced that crappy no-name battery with an Interstate which ended up being a cost savings over than some other recommended brand! I could not be more happy with it and have had no electrical issues since.
