I was driving my wife's GX on the freeway, and I noticed about every 10 seconds the AC makes that sort of hissing/slurping sound. All AC systems make that noise, but usually it's more like once every minute or two. Her car, however, was making the noise like every 10 seconds, and it also seemed a lot louder than my car.

The car ac seems to cool fine, but I can't imagine it's supposed to sound like that.

Is this an indication of low charge, or do all GX Ac systems sound like this?

Sounds like a low charge to me--Mine you cant even hear cut on/off?

Brad....if it is low in charge..there will be a cooling deficiency. But it does not seem so. Older Models GX the Expansion Valve had this cutoff making this loud noise which are unusual to the quietness we are used to within the cabin. Nothing to worry, you just need to get used to.

Mine did it (traded it for an Infiniti JX).... It was a 2007. Took it in several times and they replaced the ac coil, and it didn't fix the issue. Was annoying, but never affected functionality....
