With our 06 4Runner V8 (same setup as the GX for the oil change), I have been using a K&N HP-2009 oil filter (a bit longer than the stock size) and it has a nut on top to make it easy to remove so I don't need to remove any covers. A bit of a pain to get the new filter in there (have small hands), but works like a charm.

I always stick to the Toyota ones because it's cheap and made for the car. I might go with the Royal Purple 10-2835 one of these days. But it might be just as small as the OEM.

Get yourself an oil filter cutter if you're an oil geek and take a peek inside of your used filter to see what it's catching. A Dremel will also do.

Clubsport and rok,

Formally asking you to either knock off the public back and forth baiting & jabs or add each other to your Ignore lists

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/pro...?do=ignorelist

Don't expect to see this in future threads....
