Still looking for a good pair of headlights so until I find them I mounted Lexus H3 capsules in my fogs. The capsules cost $20 so theyre cheaper than a pair of aftermarket yellow bulbs.







I also started making a HID relay harness and I found an empty factory relay socket in the engine bay. For those that like to work with their hands and make their own stuff I'll post a how to soon.

I just bought a gx today and I think I could use some real projectors. Especially when my last car had ls430. Looking forward to this.

It is an easy process. All you need common tools. All parts picked up from TRS, no doubt the best leaders in the industry for innovative headlight upgrades. if you have any doubt that this retrofit cannot be done by yourslef. Then I suggest dont do it. Better give it some pro guys in town eg Lightwerkz, HID Retrofitz..

Refer my previous post, inclusive of the Dremel Tool handy when you need to grind the edges and reseal.
To begin
Very simple!

Step 1: remove front bumpers

Step 2: remove headlights

Step 3: Remove all the screws behind the headlight assembly and the rubber thing around the bulb opening

Step 4: pre-heat over on 220 degrees

Step 5: put the headlight assembly in the oven. (make sure to put it on top of something, i used wooden blocks so you wont melt anything.

Step 6: Leave it inside the over for about 10-15 minutes

Step 7: Take it out of the oven then pry the lens with flat head screw driver

Step 8: Remove the existing projectors and insert the new Morimoto ones ( Removal process is a bit longer time and must be done carefull.Ensure to seperate the Lens away while you work to remove the existing projectors

Step 9: Ensure the fit is rite and slide into the back of HL

Step 10: lock it by using sealant around.

Step 11: install the bulb holder or lock, then put the bulb in.

Step 12: test fit it into the truck again then aim it

Step 13: once properly aimed, put the headlight assembly and the lens in the oven for 15 minutes then re-assemble the headlight.

Step 14: Repeat for the other headlight

Step 15: Go get yourself a drink because your done

Well guys Im taking the easy route and having my buddy Rich over at hidillusionz.com do my retro. Ive dealth with him many times in the past and he does excellent work and has a very quick turn around time.

To make a long story short...Im relocating to Florida and I made an offer on a home and the bank accepted the offer pretty fast, so im heading to Florida May 26.

Ive done retros before and I like to taking my time and since Im moving in a month I dont want to rush my retro. Plus my wifes pregnant (baby is due in July) so Im pretty much having to pack our house myself and break down our 125g fish tank w/ 20 fish in it...that combined with everything else I have to do before we move the retro is the last thing I have time for.

Anyway I'll post some pictures once I get everything back from Rich.....

hey y'all,

last night i was driving to and from denver international airport in the rain and i thought the visibility from our factory headlamps is downright dangerous... i couldn't see very clear the lane markings or anything much... is this the reason why people do hid kit?

People go with HIDs in general because they put out more lumens (are brighter) than halogen bulbs, so you can see better. Obviously what im doing is better than putting a kit in our halogen projectors because a HID projector is made for HID bulbs so youll have a more concentrated / wider beam pattern but some people would rather buy a kit because its cheaper and easier.
