Well, from what I've learned from my shopping excurisons in the past months, Lexus usually ships each non-special ordered model in one of two ways. A mid priced luxury version (like the $36k premium package ES without the nav/levinson/VSC/rear sunshade) and a fully loaded version (like the $39k es with all those goodies) and anything else you need to special order. The ES, SC, IS, RX, LS, and GS seem to be this way. My guess would be the $45k car is the mid pack equipment wize, and the $55k is totally loaded.

According to the specs in my area, the car will be built 3 ways, generally a base car with premium sound, then a Nav/Lev, then a Nav/Lev with the Rear Seat Entertainment..Pricing would be starting at $44,000(approx), and would top out at $49,000

Well, for some odd reason, the West Coast is going to see the GX mid November, and the East Coast would be seeing it mid December..Not sure about the Midwest though..

Default Midwest

I was told here in Chicago either last week of November to first week of December... And it's not all that odd.. they come in to the western ports. Then they'll slowly make their way across the country. Filling in dealers as they go.

They will start the two week media blitz in mid November and vehicles will hit the dealers in January.

See Kelly Blue Book online at www.kbb.com they have pricing information both invoice and retail in their "build a car" section.

My dealer here in Westchester County, NY told me that, of the first GX's produced, 61% will have the NAV/LEV and the third row seats as the only options. 28% will also have the rear entertainment system.

While the saleman didn't have any specific information, his dealership typically receives two allocations a month and he expects that each GX allocation will have 10-15 trucks starting in early December. Because I am #22 on the dealer's waiting list, I am hoping one will be available for me by the end of the year.

Has anyone else heard anything about the timing and size of the first allocations?

My big issue is timing because the lease on my current car expires 12/1 and I also have a deposit down on an XC90 which is scheduled for delivery next week. My wife and I are trying to decide if we should wait for the GX. Is anyone else looking at the XC90?

you know what all you want in yours?

also anyone think it would be too hard to get a discount on this vehicle?

As far as options go, I'm not too picky. It sounds as though the only decision to make if you want one of the first deliveries is the entertainment system. As my son is only 10 months old, I don't think I will have any use for it for a while.

With respect to colors (exterior and interior), that's my wife's department. Colors will probably determine which options we get as we will likely take the first GX available to us in the colors she wants.

I wouldn't expect any discounts for a while. In fact, my dealer's "approximate" pricing for the first GX's is above the MSRP detail posted on KBB's web site. They have over 80 people on their waiting list.
