gx470 rack and pinion problem?
I have a 2003 Gx470 with 98,000 miles. My steering wheel is really hard to turn. I changed the steering wheel pump, but the problem was not solved. Could anyone tell me what the problem could be? Is it a problem with sensors, other electrical units, or rack and pinion?

First Time fit, after you completed the vane pump v belt installation and connected the pressure feed tube, to the oil reservoir, and added the steering fluid, did you do a First Time Bleed of the Power steering Fluid, otherwise that would cause stiffness

Thanks Mann777 for your help! After replacing the rack&pinion the problem was resolved. The steering wheel turns easy and smooth. Now I ran into a different problem: when i drive my Gx470, traction control starts to kick in after 10mph, and won't let me accelerate the speed, because the vehicle is slowed down by traction control. What do you think the problem might be? I already changed the water pump, timing belt, power steering pump, ac compressor, and the radiator. I never experienced this problem before I started fixing my car, and as soon as I did the test drive, I noticed this problem. What gives the signal to activate traction control? What should I check?

Can you do a ECM reset procedure.
1. Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes ( - Negative Cable)
2.Reconnect the battery Cable.
3.Start the Engine and warm it up to normal operating temprature before test drive.
4.Perform a through test drive with several accelerations from a stop with "Light throttle acceleration"until proper shifting of the transmission is noticed.
Check it out and let us know.

I tried resetting with OBD II scanner but nothing happened. Then I did what you recommend and it work! Thank you Mann777!
For all parts, + labor I spend $1400. I think it's good deal. Do you?
Sources I use to save money:
1. Ebay
2. Craigslist
3. Uncle Tim mechani
4. Club Lexus. (special thanks to Mann777)
