The full sport setting is way to stiff and the second from sport seems to be were it seems balanced. I might adjust the arms to lowest point to see how that chages the ride.

If you added Bilstein shocks on all 4 corners you wouldnt be able to use the comfort / sport settings anymore since the Bilsteins arent adjustable? Maybe im missing something.....

You're running 5100s on the rear, and worn OEM struts in front? Did you buy the front 5100s, and just not have time to replace them? I'm betting the ride is a little odd to say the least Are you planning on having the fronts done?

Also, I wonder how the Bilstiens will deal with the GX's additional 300+lbs of weight.

I will probably replace the fronts too. I would have to be 100% sure about which shocks for the front would match up with the gx's weight.

Yeah, that's the tricky one. I'd guess that the 4runner 5100s would bolt up just fine, the trick is whether or not the spring seat is at exactly the same height as our OEM. If it isn't, then you could have ride height issues.

The beauty of the 5100 front strut, though, is that it has 3 or 4 height adjustment rings, so I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a happy height -- and in fact raise it a bit if you wanted to. But, it's going to be a risk that someone's going to have to take to learn for all of us. I'm too chicken, so I'd rather you did it

You think the rear shocks could dictate ride height? Because i adjusted the arms back almost down to lowest point and it feels like its stiff from riding high. I may be bending the tabs the hold the height control arms to the control arms to trick the truck into not raising up so high. I'm thinking the rear is less sensitive now with the bilsteins.

Shocks *shouldn't* have any affect on ride height. Bilsteins can occasionally raise a car a bit because they're pressurized. However, our auto-height control should combat this. Net: they should have zero effect on ride height.

I can't remember which way (up or down in the adjustment slot) raises the car. Note that the length of the "arm" is adjustable too, by loosening the lock nuts on either end and twisting the arm. Maybe that's too long/short?
