Great pic!

Really guys, we need more GXs represented out on the trails, to show all those heep fan boys in their Rubi's what a real off roader can do without $15k in add ons.

Got around to swapping some of the power steering fluid with fresh ATF, used a battery filler (fancy turkey baster with a narrow neck so it fits into the PS resevoir) to remove the old fluid, and topped it up. I'll drive it a bit, and do it again, and continue doing so until I'm happy with the color of the fluid. This marks the final fluid on this truck, I've finally finished baselining it!!!

Just in time to hand the keys over to the wife. My Land Cruiser has landed in Vancouver, and I fly out to collect it at the end of the month! I also bought a '99 MB E55 AMG wagon which will land in Vancouver Sept. 10, so my time in the Lexus is numbered. It's been a good trip, and I thank the forum for all the help over the last year and a half.

Taking the running boards off definitely changes the look of the vehicle. I like it.

Can anyone provide a good resource for finding off-road trails?

Installed new EBC Rotors and Hawk LTS pads all the way around... Bedding them in right now, but smooth as silk so far.

Default Recent Purchase

I purchased a 2005 with 80000 miles two months ago and installed OME 884 front springs and re adjusted the airbag sensor got 2.5 inches of lift and installed Durtrac 255/75/17 tires. Stock shocks were replace by Lexus dealer in Las Vegas where i purchased it 5000 miles ago so i left them alone. It rides better than stock and now I have plenty of clearance for the upcoming Colorado winter now I need to hit some trails and test it out

Really sharp truck convrty, very clean, reminds me of ours but nicer with the more powerful engine, rear spoiler, lift, etc.

I changed the oil in my 2008 with 6.5 quarts of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum using an
Air Power America 5060 Topsider Air Power America 5060 Topsider
. The Topsider worked great; I removed the oil drain plug to see if I got it all and not a single drop of oil came out of that hole. I've long been a fan of Purolator Filters and used a PSL10241 Synthetic.

I also replaced the bottom to one of the 3rd row seats which was cracked when I bought it. The part was pricey but not seeing that big ugly cracked piece of plastic all the time makes it worth it.

Up next: remove the running boards. The right one was bowed up in the middle when I got it. I like the look without them much better anyway.

you can use that topsider when you do your brake fluid and power steering fluid too. Then just refill the redervoir with clean and go through the drills.

Default Thanks for the compliment

IanB2 thanks for the kind words. I moved over from a Tundra and needed a V8 for towing and the Lex was perfect plus it rides nice too.

Replaced the radiator because it was starting to grow "candy" along one of the sides. Also replaced the thermostat (just because). Hoses looked good.

Hopefully this is the last of the expensive mechanical repairs it needs, for a long long time.
